Subject: [nlna] Comments due Friday for Schmidt's Environmental Process

Neighbors,

Over the past two months Tower Investments has held three Public
Involvement Plan (PIP) meetings on environmental issues at the old
Schmidt's brewery site.

As part of the PIP process, anyone from the public can ask questions,
raise concerns, and make comments, on status of the site, the
proposed cleanup/remediation plan, or the POP process itself. Our
understanding is that all such comments should be attached to the
final remediation plan, which Tower will submit to the PA Dept. of
Environmental Protection (DEP) for approval. (Tower has said they
will consolidate and summarize all submitted comments and respond to
them in an Appendix to the plan.)

At the last meeting (Jan 9) it was announced that Tower would take
comments from the public until *Friday, January 20*. For information
on how to submit comments directly, please call Tower at 215-467-460
and ask for the designated PIP representative.

Alternatively, any neighbor who wishes to get comments in before the
20th can also email comments or questions to the following address by
12 Noon on Friday, and the NLNA will then pass them along to Tower:

Finally, watch this list for an email on our upcoming NLNA General
Membership Meeting, scheduled for January 26 - one agenda item will
be discussion of environmental issues throughout the neighborhood,
with representatives from the PA DEP, who will join us as guests that
evening.
