Deuce adds Tarot Card & Palm readings

DEUCE, PHILADELPHIA’S ‘BEST NEW RESTAURANT’, OPENS FOR BRUNCH!

Deuce, the Northern Liberties restaurant and bar voted “Best New Restaurant” in the 2005 Philadelphia CityPaper’s “Reader’s Choice Awards”, has finally opened for Sunday brunch. Deuce’s owner, Laura Vernola, has also started a late-night happy hour from ten until midnight every night.

Deuce, which opened in September 2005, was given two bells (“very good”) in Craig LaBan’s recent Philadelphia Inquirer review. Laban praised Deuce’s “diverse menu” that’s “at once extremely affordable ($15 max) and obsessively homemade.” LaBan continued, “…one can't help but appreciate the effort and imagination that (Deuce chef Scott) Schroeder is pouring into his menu, considering this newcomer could reel in crowds on style points and location alone.”

Deuce is located on 2nd Street, just south of Girard Avenue at the entrance to the four-block Liberties Walk development, and just across the street from the futuristic Hancock Square retail/residential complex, currently under construction.

“Yes, it’ll be great when it’s all built,” said Vernola. “In the meantime, we’ll continue to do our best every day.”

Deuce’s full menu, including favorites like the Cheese Steak Spring Rolls, the Kobe Beef Burger and the Fried PB&J, take a back seat on Sunday morning to new brunch inspirations like the Salmon Gravlax Salad, Fried Eggs on Chilequillas with Grilled Chorizo and Almond Crusted French Toast with Maple Glazed Blueberries.

Late-night happy hour at Deuce runs from 10-midnight every night, with half-priced drafts and $3 well drinks. Monday through Friday, Deuce’s traditional after-work happy hour from 5-7 features $1 lagers, $3 well drinks and $4 martinis.

Beginning next Tuesday February 28th Tarot Card & Palm Readings, first come first serve and starts at 7pm

Deuce’s daily specials are dictated by what catches Scott Schroeder’s eye at the market each morning—check the blackboard! Deuce has free WiFi available and plenty of free street parking. For complete details, please visit http://deucerestaurant.com.
